If you want to learn quickly basic Japanese, you have chosen the right page.
Japanese language is basically made of three alphabets. The first one is constituted of Hiragana characters, the second of Katakana characters and the third one is based on Kanji which are part of Chinese symbols. You will find below two complete alphabet boards with Hiragana and Katakana characters.
Note: Japanese words are made of different sounds or syllables.

How to say...

Itadakimasu >Japanese people use it before eating.

Gochisou-sama-deshita >Japanese people use it after having eaten.

Explaination: Japanese people use these two expressions to thank ancestors, God, Farmers and the person who has cooked.
